Assistant Coach - MOB Curtis

Matt Durocher brings elite playing experience and a proven coaching track record to the game.

A four-year starter at the University of Guelph, Matt played four positions — OF, SS, 3B, and C — displaying a high-level understanding of the game across multiple positions. . He helped lead Guelph to the CIS National Championship Final in 2000, earning 2nd Team All-Star honors at Nationals and Academic All-Star recognition in 1999 and 2000. He also competed in the IBL with Toronto, Guelph, and Brantford, and was a two-time Junior Inter-County All-Star with the Cambridge Bulldogs.

As a coach, Matt has led and developed athletes at multiple levels: Assistant Coach at the University of Guelph, six years as Head Coach with Cambridge Cubs Rep, Head Coach of Cambridge Cubs Elite, and three years as Assistant Coach with the Midwestern Ontario Bearcats. His teams were ICBA Playoff Finalists (2018, 2019) and two-time Great Lakes Wood Bat Tournament Champions in Michigan. In 2021, he was named ICBA Volunteer of the Year.

Matt holds an Honours B.A. in Management Economics from the University of Guelph and is NCCP Baseball Certified.

His philosophy is simple: great coaches evolve. Through constant learning, collaboration, and accountability, Matt prepares athletes for the expectations of college baseball and the next level. He is passionate about helping players reach their goals — equipping them with the mindset, habits, and standards required for long-term success on and off the field.
